Jake and the Ghost Dragon Reboot

It's been a while since I've last posted. I've been chronicling the adventures of Jake and his friend the Ghost Dragon. Originally, I was doing this in quick, one page increments I planned to release one page a day.

While I liked the direction and art the story was taking, I felt like these "sketch" stories and especially the characters, deserved the full treatment of bigger pages and more finished art. While the story will remain largely the same, the new format will fill in some story gaps and allow for complete character designs. The above panels were so small, character design was getting lost and I really like these characters.

The above image has not been cropped to it's final size and as such there are some bits around the edges that will be left off. This page shows both characters in their home office where the idea for searching for "something" at the rainbow's end first strikes.

The Ghost Dragon

The Ghost Dragon is Jake's partially intangible, best friend. Perhaps the only remaining Ghost Dragon in existence, Ghost (as he's sometimes called) is able to fly and rarely speaks.

Jake and the Ghost Dragon's story is about ready to launch too! Their first adventure will start here, in "The Rainbow's End".

Roger the Monster

I met Roger just a few days ago. He is very charismatic which may be something you wouldn't expect from a monster but really, they're just like you and me. Monster don't just come out at night; monsters are just more difficult to see during the day. If you should happen to see Roger, be cordial and say "hello".

Aliens aliens everywhere

Even when the guide book comes out (this weekend or next) I won't have much to say about this alien. First of all, this represent from Uranus did not speak much and when he did, I couldn't understand most of what he said; even with the universal translator.

I'm recently back from some research I was doing for a new book I'm working on: A Guide to Our Solar System. I had the opportunity to meet with some of the predominate species living on each of the 9 planets. Pluto, you're still a planet to me and thank you for the Erghaom, it was the best I've ever eaten.

I've sketched one of the U'asenth (oo•ah•sehn•TH) from the planet closest to the sun, Mercury.
